Really felt proud today, because Taj Mahal got voted as one of 7 New Wonders of the World. It trully deserved to be in the top 7. Taj Mahal stood first out of the total 100 million votes. I myself voted for Taj Mahal from 5 different email ID's to make sure it came on top of the other 20 sites :PBuild by the great Mughal Emporer Shah Jahan as a symbol of love for his beloved wife Mumtaz, it still stands to this very day in Agra. If Mumtaz was still here today, she would be one proud lady. I wish I could build some monument for my wife (thats after I get married :P ), that will stand the test of time to show my everlasting love :) But still I don't think I can top Taj, the symbol of love.
Talking about the Symbol of love, the first thing that races to my mind is the Cross, on which Jesus Christ died. It is the symbol of God's love for the whole world. Cross was once a symbol of shame and humiliation, but after Jesus gave his life for us, it got transformed into a symbol of everlasting Love.
Even though I am a proud Indian, I still havn't been to the Taj Mahal. Hope I would one day get my chance to go to Agra and savour its beauty and stand in awe of the Love the Taj Mahal brings out in its countrymen towards India.
